28/09/06 - Finally, photos from a shadow cast performance at the QM Union in Glasgow... Last Halloween!.
The Rocky Horror Picture Show is a decadent, fun filled,
rock n' roll musical in the style of the old B movies.
Brad Majors and his fiancé Janet Wiese make their way to
the Frankenstein castle to seek help after their car tyre
bursts on their way to see an old friend, Dr. Everett Scott.
There they find a bunch of 'odd' people dancing the Time Warp.
Then enters Dr Frank-N-Furter (Tim Curry, below) wearing...
well wearing what you see before you. After a bit of a performance,
they are "invited up to Frank's laboratory" to witness the birth of his creation,
Rocky Horror...
... From there on, it's 'anything goes' as we witness a "mercy killing",
a whole basket of "forbidden fruit" and an interesting dinner.
Following a spectacular floorshow, Frank's servants rebel and beam the
castle back to their home planet, Transsexual, in the galaxy of Transylvania,
leaving behind Frank and his creation "in spirit anyway". Brad and Janet are
left crawling on the ground (in fishnets) unsure of their future after that
decadent night. The songs are great, the outfits are outrageous, and Tim Curry
is absolutely amazing as Frank-N-Furter. It really is a must see cult movie.
So that's a taste of what the RHPS is about, but believe me,
it's much better than that!
